Sonome Sounds LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our website at sonomesounds.com (“Site”), use our plugins or the Sonome Base app, or purchase our Products.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

Your name and email address when you create an account, start a trial, or make a purchase.
Billing and payment information, which is collected and processed by our reseller (see Section 4).
Any information you include in communications with us, such as support emails.

Information collected automatically on the Site:

Device and browser information (browser type, operating system).
IP address and approximate location.
Pages visited, time spent on the Site, and referral sources.
Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6).

Information from our plugins and the Sonome Base app: see Section 3.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

Process and fulfill your purchases and deliver your Products.
Manage your account, trials, licenses, credits, and the computers your licenses are activated on.
Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
Send transactional emails, such as sign-in links, purchase confirmations, download links, and trial or renewal reminders.
Send marketing communications, if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
Improve and maintain the Site, including analytics and performance monitoring.
Comply with legal obligations.

3. Plugins and the Sonome Base App

Our plugins (such as Chimera and Ictus) and the Sonome Base desktop app sign in to your Sonome Sounds account. To start a trial and to verify your license, they connect to our license server and send:

your account email;
a one-way hash of your computer’s hardware identifier (we never receive the identifier itself);
your computer’s name, its operating system, and the plugin or app version.

We use this only to manage your trial, your license, and the computers it is activated on. You can see and remove those computers from your account page, the plugin, or Sonome Base. Our plugins and Sonome Base do not collect or send your audio, projects, presets, or usage data.

4. Payment Processing

All payment transactions are handled by our reseller and Merchant of Record: Moonbase, or, for purchases made before we moved our store to Moonbase, Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”). The checkout page shows which one you are buying from. When you make a purchase, your payment details are collected and processed directly by that reseller. We do not receive or store your card number or full payment details. The reseller shares with us what we need to deliver your purchase, such as your name, email address, country, and the products you bought.

Moonbase’s privacy policy (moonbase.sh) and Paddle’s privacy policy (paddle.com/legal/privacy) govern how each handles your payment information.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

Moonbase (and Paddle, for purchases made before our move to Moonbase), our resellers and Merchants of Record, to complete transactions, issue receipts, and handle taxes and refunds.
Service providers: third-party services that help us operate the Site and our Products, such as hosting, file delivery, email delivery, and analytics providers. These providers only access your information as needed to perform their services.
Legal compliance: if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

6. Cookies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to provide basic functionality, keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some features of the Site.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, maintain your account and licenses, and comply with legal obligations. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law (for example, purchase records). Deleting your account also deactivates your plugin licenses and ends re-downloads of your packs; files you have already downloaded remain licensed to you under our EULA.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your personal information.
Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
Request a portable copy of your data.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Site and Products are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

11. International Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the Site and our Products, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations.
